This photographic series was commissioned to document the ambiance and characters of a summer season in Hitoyoshi Kuma, a region in Kumamoto renowned for its production of Kuma Shochu.
Twenty-seven distilleries continue to uphold this time-honored Japanese tradition, with each incorporating unique innovations to experiment and explore new approaches to engage with the contemporary shochu consumer.
