Getting Process Journal (our book documenting design & construction of Half House) printed has been quite tricky so far, mostly because of the full-colour page count & embarrassingly short print run. We have now found a printer, through an introduction from publisher friends, that can do it at a reasonable cost, and all in Kyoto too which is great. We received the first sample yesterday.
Honestly, it doesn't look too good because the binding method has made the pages wrinkle quite badly, but there are some obvious things we can do to smooth-out these issues. It does seems we will need to accept some compromise on this book though, we did get a cost to do it perfectly but that was over $800 / book. : )
